Marks & Spencer reported its first set of full-year results since Marc Bolland took over as chief executive today, and pretty impressive they were too; the high street giant saw profits jump 13% to £714m in the year to April 2, with revenues up 4% to £9.7bn.
“We did this by offering customers great quality and value, and more choice through innovation.”
Bolland increased market share across both Marks & Spencer’s main divisions by improving presentation of clothing ranges and adding new food ranges.
He’s also increased advertising with the ‘Only at Your M&S’ 2011 campaign, featuring Dannii Minogue, Jamie Redknapp, V V Brown, Twiggy, Lisa Snowdon and Ana Beatriz Barros.
